Why “Tsuyahime” Tastes So Good
Tsuyahime is cultivated in designated areas by authorized local growers.
These local growers have met all objective qualifications, and have been designated as official agriculturalists by the head of Yamagata’s Tsuyahime Brand Planning and Promotions Department: the Prefectural Governor.
Always “Organically Raised” and “Specially Cultivated”
“Organically raised” means that this rice is raised without the use of any artificial agricultural chemicals or chemical fertilizers, and “specially cultivated” indicates that cultivation has been carried out in accordance with the “Guidelines for Specially Cultivated Agricultural Products” of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.

To fully bring out the traits of the cultivar, and to keep cultivation focus on top-notch product quality, taste, and safety, we adhere thoroughly to best practices.
Shipped After Taste-Testing
To ensure quality, Yamagata Prefecture has its own shipping regulations. Only rice with less than 6.4% protein is shipped as Tsuyahime.
